Civility in Public and Personal Life

Civility in Public and Personal Life. LWVN and the Naperville Interfaith Leadership Alliance hosted a nonpartisan interactive discussion of civility in public and personal life presented by the Institute for Civility in Government. Are you burned out by the anger in public political conversation? Does compromise necessarily mean “defeat?” The Houston-based Institute for Civility in Government will presented an interactive discussion about how to engage in productive conversation without completely abandoning your own valid positions or attacking those who disagree with you. These questions are important both in our public decisions and our private relationships in school, home, and the workplace, and they are crucial to any commitment to a stronger, more inclusive democratic process.
